Terapia is one of the leading Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Counselling training organisation in the UK. They also provide highly specialised counselling, psychotherapy and bespoke mental health services for young people, children, parents and families. We work with individuals, organisations, schools and statutory and non-statutory sector.

Over the last two decades, they have developed an expertise in all issues related to child mental health. The training is demanding and graduates can offer the highest standard of knowledge and therapeutic skills in psychotherapy profession. Terapia uses established best practice in child psychotherapy along with the latest findings from neuroscience to resolve psychological pain and recover lives and hope. Their developing expertise in forensic practice with children and young people is coupled with dedicated therapeutic facilities. This enables us to provide highly specialist forensic work that is gleaned from our know-how in this area.

Based in Finchley, North London, Terapia took over the derelict history bothy within Stephen’s House and Gardens in 2016, raising over £2m through the National Lottery Heritage Fund’s Heritage Enterprise programme and the Elliot Simmons Trust, to redevelop the site into a state-of-the-art therapeutic facility and celebrate the heritage story of the site. The Bothy Project has restored the historically significant Bothy, a Grade II listed building, and converted it into a therapeutic centre of excellence. The Bothy is part of the Stephen’s House and Gardens (formerly known as the Avenue House Estate) in Finchley, the historical home of Henry Stephens the inventor of Stephens inks, and was created as a prototype model farm designed by Stephens himself and landscape architect Robert Marnock.

Tricolor was appointed in 2015 as part of the Heritage Enterprise development phase to undertake the Activity Plan, Interpretation Plan, Volunteering Plan, Evaluation Plan and Business Plan. We also undertook interpretation design and implementation during the delivery phase, incorporating a multi-sensory timeline to engage adults and children alike in the history of The Bothy. As a result of the capital project, the centre has purpose built training facilities, play therapy rooms, counselling rooms, and sensory equipment, which enables us to provide high quality mental health, counselling and psychotherapy services and a holistic approach to troubled young people and children.
