Leas Lift, in Folkestone, a late 19th Century water balance funicular railway has been closed since early 2016. The local business communities of Folkestone were not prepared to see the lift slowly decay and be left to the elements. Instead, they wished to reopen the lift, using this as an opportunity for placemaking.
Tricolor were asked to undertake a business case analysis and options appraisal for the reopening of Leas Lift on behalf of the new strategic Board. This included coming up with an ambitious vision for the re-opening of the lift and using this as a destination making opportunity.
