John Lancaster

I have been working as a creative and heritage sector consultant for 22 years after setting up the consultancy Perfect Moment with my colleague Kevin Brownridge. During this time, working on a wide range of projects with local, regional, and national organisations has allowed me to develop a portfolio of expertise in successful capital project development, business planning and support, funding and bid writing, research and evaluation, and data management and analysis. With a long and successful track record in developing realistic sustainable business strategies and securing inward investment for clients (in the last 10 years Perfect Moment have helped to secure £71m of funding for clients) I can bring an experienced eye to shaping projects to ensure they are achievable and deliverable. I have also been involved with a wide range of Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisations and recently helped major clients such as Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival and Hall For Cornwall to develop successful capital project strategies helping them secure funding from sources such as Arts Council England and the Heritage Lottery Fund to develop their grade-listed venues. I wrote the business plans for these and have carried out high-level business planning work for Youth Music (the national funder of youth music projects) and Association of Colleges Create (the commercial wing of the national FE body).
